PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 13, 2011 – MISSION VIEJO, Ca – The 2011 Mission Hospital Golf Classic Presented by Audi Mission Viejo at Coto de Caza Golf Club was a rousing success, as golfers enjoyed a gorgeous day on the course while raising valuable funds to assist the hospital's life-saving work.
Over 125 volunteers helped the 100 sponsors and 292 golfers raise nearly $370,000 for the 19th annual tournament. Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $2.5 million for Mission Hospital. The event featured a cocktail reception with an ice martini bar, dinner and silent and live auctions. At the end of the event, a soon-to-be announced Laguna Niguel resident was the proud winner of a new car, when his winning ticket was randomly picked from ni ssan GTR specification nearly 1,400 opportunity tickets sold prior to the event.
Players enjoyed a beautiful day of golf at the popular South County Infiniti m hybird course. In addition to its tournament sponsorship, Audi Mission Viejo held a hole-in-one contest on the par three 4th hole on the North Course. 18 groups of four golfers made the attempt to win a 2011 Audi A4 sedan, but unfortunately, there were no holes-in-one to be had. But everyone enjoyed an afternoon of sun and fun at the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course.
The tournament raises funds for Mission Hospital's two campuses, in Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach. The hospital has embarked on an ambitious plan to significantly expand the Mission Viejo campus during the next two decades, to accommodate the community's growing healthcare needs.
