PRLog (Press Release)– May 31, 2011– At the second CoolCalifornia.org Small Business Awards ceremony held in Sacramento on May 3rd, CoolCalifornia.org and the California Air Resources Board (ARB) presented Three Squares Inc. (TSI) with a CoolCalifornia Climate Leader Award.
The CoolCalifornia Small Business award program was established in 2009 by the California Air Resources Board to honor small California businesses that have incorporated initiatives to reduce their environmental impact and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Last year many innovative companies including Rent A Green Box, Numi Organic Tea, Sustainable Silicon Valley, and Cool the Earth were presented with the award. This honor was given to small businesses that worked pr dodge oactively to decrease their impact on climate change throughout 2010. TSI was one of 23 small businesses selected for this honor from throughout the state.
Helping TSI stand apart from the other applicants was its environmentally friendly practices; such as recycling and composting of workplace waste and purchasing of EPEAT Gold (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) certified computers and non-toxic cleaning products. In addition to TSI's in-office operations, the organization's standing as an environmental consulting firm and green event producer was noted as an indication of its status as a climate leader in California.

Sponsors of the award, CoolCalifornia.org chevrolet and the California Air Resources board work to increase awareness of climate change and greenhouse gas e corsa missions in California. More specifically, CoolCalifornia.org serves as a resource database providing information to local governments, businesses, schools, and individuals about how to employ environmentally friendly practices. With a focus on cost savings, the CoolCalifornia website gives users access to toolkits outlining how to reduce expenses through the implementation of environmental initiatives.
The California Air Resource Board is an entity of the California Environmental Protection Agency and works to reduce air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions levels in California. Among its responsibilities are establishing and enforcing air quality standards and regulation, conducting research, and monitoring air quality.
This was the first CoolCalifornia.org 1086274749 Small Business Award presented to TSI, yet it serves as an indication of the organization's promise as a forward-thinking company with everyday operations that match its mission.
